NASA advances SR-1 Freedom nuclear power module for 2028 Mars mission
NASA and partners have agreed to contract actions to advance the nuclear power module for the Space Reactor-1 Freedom mission. The spacecraft is scheduled to launch in late 2028 to demonstrate fission power beyond Earth's orbit.
