Stoke Space Expands Cape Canaveral Launch Complex for Reusable Launches
Stoke Space Technologies, Inc. has received Right of Entry from Space Launch Delta 45 to property north of its existing launch site, Space Launch Complex 14, at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, the company announced in a Business Wire release dated 6 Novembre 2026.
The northern expansion will enable continued development of Stoke’s launch complex, including the construction of a second launch site to support high cadence launch and reentry operations for its Nova Pathfinder and Nova Block 2 launch vehicles.
The Right of Entry is the first step to opening more of the Eastern Range to fully and rapidly reusable launch. The notice authorizes engineering studies, environmental assessments, and site surveys necessary for expansion.
Stoke was granted a property license to SLC-14 in 2024 following a competitive process in 2023. Following environmental assessments, Stoke completely restored and reactivated the site in just over one year. SLC-14 was designed and built to enable fast-turn, high-cadence launch and recovery operations.
"Every launch provider strengthens the nation’s access to space. Our team here at the Eastern Range is proud to support partners bringing more launch capability to the United States, and we look forward to enabling more launches from the Space Coast," said Col. Brian Chatman, commander of Space Launch Delta 45 and director of the Eastern Range at Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.
"This milestone reflects Space Launch Delta 45's commitment to Stoke and to developing the Eastern Range infrastructure that fully and rapidly reusable launch requires," said Brian Wemple, VP of Launch. "It's an honor to build the future of launch on the historic ground of SLC-14, and we are excited to carry that momentum forward with this expansion."
This announcement follows Stoke’s recent $1 billion funding round and the unveiling of Nova Block 2 in September of 2026. Nova Pathfinder is on track for its first orbital launch in the first part of 2027. Nova Block 2, scheduled for 2029, is positioned to meet the market at a time of concentrated launch demand.
Stoke is building fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicles designed to provide reliable, on-demand transportation to, through, and from space. Its vehicles are designed for rapid turnaround and high-frequency operation, dramatically lowering the cost of access while expanding the range of missions that launch systems can serve. Stoke’s technology development has been supported by NASA, the U.S. Space Force, the Defense Innovation Unit, the National Science Foundation, and other commercial and government partners.
