The Acquisition and Conductor's Technology
Conductor, founded in 2024, provides a platform that lets software engineers run multiple AI coding agents in parallel. These agentic teams can be deployed in the cloud, locally, or via a user’s phone. The agents used by the platform are not developed in-house but are sourced from major labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI. The company's co-founders include CEO Charlie Holtz and CTO Jackson de Campos.
On Wednesday, Charlie Holtz announced the acquisition on social media, stating, “I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta,” and adding, “We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface.” Holtz noted he is looking forward to working with Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, and Nat Friedman, head of product at the company’s Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Holtz stated, “They’ve been on an absolute tear, and I’m convinced MSL has the highest talent density of all the labs.”
While Meta confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch, the company did not provide additional details or comment on the financial terms of the deal.
