Alcaraz's victory in the Erste Bank Open was characterized by high intensity. According to BBC Sport, the match lasted 87 minutes, while Sky Sports reported the display lasted 97 minutes. Alcaraz took control early, breaking De Minaur's serve in the first game and establishing a double-break advantage.
In the first set, De Minaur took five of the seven games to deuce, but Alcaraz secured three breaks of serve. The second set saw increased resistance from De Minaur, who saved three break points, but he was unable to prevent Alcaraz from securing the championship point. Alcaraz sealed the win with a forehand winner across the court.
"I tried to be aggressive and show him that if he wants to win, he has to play better, more aggressive, more solid, and be smarter than me," Alcaraz said. He added, "I'm just really happy that at the end I found my way, played great, and obviously it has been a really emotional and amazing week for me."
Regarding his opponent, Alcaraz stated, "His style is really dangerous. Really flat balls that slip a lot through the court really low. It's really difficult to increase the power that I want to in every shot and every ball. He's really fast, so you have to earn every point."
